When these two air systems meet, significant changes in temperature, precipitation, and wind velocity often occur. There were 65 tornadoes recorded in Caddo County from 1950 to 1995. On the average, a tornado occurs in 2 out of every 9 years, and 75 percent of tornadoes occur from April through June. The production of oil and gas is the largest industry in the watershed. Anardarko, Caddo County seat, to the southeast of the watershed, has a large electrical generating plant.
